Curation activity

Character Design is one of my favourite parts of animation, it is also crucial to get it right. I’ve curated two pinterest boards; “Character Elements” and “Character Design”. The “Character Elements” board itself expresses the fact that there are an infinite amount of characters waiting to be created, the board also encourages the viewer to create their own putting a majority of the elements in a mix and match type format. I use this to remind me that a character it simply the construction of elements that are tailored to the personality of the character. The “Character Design” board is an array of finished designs for characters which portray the character’s personality believably. To accurately capture this within one image of the character, the creator must have all the right character elements, colour pallet, facial expression, body language, proportions, clothing, everything must flow in order for that shot to tell the story.
